Research has shown that we tend to take larger portions when we use larger dishes. Fasting can have multiple benifits for your health. There are many different definitions for fasting, but basically it means not eating food for a set amount of time. Individuals that eat alot of processed foods may have a harder time fasting than others, so it is smart to slowly lower the amounts of food and move to juice fasting before hand. And it is always have your doctors okay before you start.

While there are many reasons fasting for your health is good for you, the main reason people fast is to detoxify their body. Fasting causes the body to use its reserve stores, or in other words fasting requires the body to use the fat that is stored in the system. Which is the reason why a body has layers of fat. Due to large amounts of processed food, stress and other environmental factors, a large number of toxins also get stored. These toxins poison the system and cause poor health. Fasting results in the release of these toxins so that they can be eliminated from the body. Fasting is also a weight management tool.But a true fast only includes water entering the body, which flushes out and removes the toxins.

Regular fasting is possible, and to some considered to be a healthy practice. Short fasts usually last one to two days can be done on a regular basis. It is important however to space these out with a significant amount of time in order to prevent the body from viewing the fast as a danger. There are also long term fasts, which may last up to 30 days and some that may last longer. These are usually only done in instances of severe chronic illness and should only be done under the supervision of trained professionals.

There are a number of activities which are encouraged during the fasting. These activities are exercise, meditation, tai chi or yoga, pilates. Fasting can help in a number of common ailments such as high blood pressure, headaches, allergies and inflammatory conditions. Fasting also helps against stress and to protect ones body.

While fasting may seem difficult at first, if you continue you will be surpised with the results. Fasting helps detoxify your body, help it be more resistant, and helps with weight control. While the benefits of fasting are widespread, it is important to discuss fasting with a physician, many of which may be able to provide the supervision necessary in order to maintain proper health during a fast.

Have you been trying to lose weight? Have your considered exercise to lose weight? For your information, regular exercise is one of the most effective ways in losing your extra pounds. 

Another option that you can choose to lose weight is by dieting. This is a very common method as people adopting this method will tend to lose weight quickly. There is however a set back with dieting – the diet is not consistent and most people tend to go back to their old eating habits. When this happens, it is unfortunate that their weight will also return. Because of this set back, exercise regularly is still the best option; combine your exercise with a gradual change in eating habits and you have a great weight loss formula that helps you to shed those extra pounds permanently.

If you are serious about exercising, why not enroll in a gym and engage a personal trainer?  By hiring a personal trainer, you will have someone to watch over your shoulder, someone to monitor your progress and make sure that you achieve your goal. 

In addition, most of the gyms have a wide range of classes that you can enroll. You can either enroll in classes like stair-stepping, kickboxing, aerobics , pilates, yoga and etc….The gyms will also have equipments that will help burn your calories. 

If you prefer to exercise on your own, you can advise the personal trainer to design a program that you can exercise at your own. There is however some difficulty in monitoring your progress as you may not be meeting your personal trainer on regular basis. 

If joining a gym is not your cup of tea, then go ahead and do the sports that you enjoy most. When you are having fun, it is most likely that you will stay on and begin to lose weight. You have the options of joining your friends or a team in playing your favorite sports. And when you do that, you will start to meet new people and expand your circle of friends.   

After you start to exercise for some time, your exercise routine will slowly turn into habit. You will feel something amiss if you don’t do your regular sports. When this happens, you can consider increasing the pace and extend the time of your exercise. However, do keep in mind that as your increase the intensity, do it slowly so that you body will have time to adjust and adapt to this changes. 

As you begin to exercise and lose weight, remember to have good health. There is no point if you can shed those pounds but your health goes down the drain. One main point to know is that you may still gain some weight as you start your program. This is simply because you are changing the muscle mass as you exercise and it is known that this will increase weight. However, as you gain more muscles, the calories that you use will also increase. Hence, even if you do not change your eating habits, you will still shed those extra pounds.
